To Tread the Narrow Path
Cycle of the Narrow Path: Book I

Minimalist artwork. Simple colors. The silhouette of a samurai with sword glinting in the light standing before a red moon. Text: To Tread the Narrow Path by Anthony D Farr
Published 2014
The kingdom is in turmoil. A civil war threatens to overthrow the empire. As the new age dawns, the trappings of the old imperium burn away. A dark chaos is rising that threatens to shatter the very forces of destiny, and the fate of the world rest upon the last Nightwatch. After the death of his master, the lone assassin, loyal to the throne, must tread the narrow path between his honor and duty. He must walk the knife thin road between a sacred vow and the desire for vengeance. The sun is setting on the empire and he must tread the narrow path to survive.

This book is a fantasy set in a world in turmoil. Heavily based on feudal Japan, it has been compared to stories like Avatar the Last Airbender and Ghost of Tsushima. Originally planned as a standalone story, I have begun a sequel titled The Knife Thin Road.

The Albatross and Other Tales
A Short Story Collection

Published 2020
The Albatross and Other Tales is a collection of twelve short stories by Anthony D Farr. With stories ranging from the fantastic to the real, readers will find stories grounded in small towns to stories taking place on planets in the farthest reaches of space. In these twelve tales, a student will find destiny from a stranger carrying an old leather book (The Albatross); three thieves escaping with their haul along Nevada's Route 50 find something unexpected (The Loneliest Highway), a date in a virtual club takes an unexpected turn for Charlene and Nathan (Static), an assassin in training must walk the path between honor and revenge (excerpt from To Tread the Narrow Path), and others.

This is my first collection of short stories. It is a multi genre and not really connected, except for the framing story that caps it off.  It is a smattering of scifi, horror, fantasy, and grounded fiction. If you want a good sampling of my writing, this is a good book to pick up of mine.

One Snowy Night

“A brilliantly crafted series of stories that gave off serious Twilight Zone vibes.”—T.D. Fleming, author of Lightning Strikes

Stephen King has Castle Rock. H.P. Lovecraft has Arkham. Anthony D. Farr has Raven’s Bend.

The snow falls heavy and thick on one fateful winter night, trapping Raven’s Bend, Maine in a frozen embrace. As the blizzard rages on, strange and terrifying events unfold…

I originally self published this book back in April of 2024. It did moderatly well- in fact it did the best of all my books that are out in the world. I think the radio interview I gave for this one made a huge difference in how well this did.

In August of 2024, I was approached by Velox Books with an offer to publish it under their banner. After chatting with the owner for a bit, I decided this was the right move and we are looking at a re-release date for OSN coming up on November 8, 2024.

This is a multi-genre collection of stories spanning real world heartfelt stories to plunging the depths of horror and suspense. The entirety of the collection takes place over the course of one night in the fictional town of Raven's Bend, Maine (my stand in for Lewiston/Auburn Maine.

If this looks like something you'd like to pick up, you can pre-order it below or if you are a Maine local, come on by Quiet City Books in Lewiston, ME on November 8th for a signed copy.
